Public Domain Image Use Policy

Effective Date: April 30, 2026

Last Updated: April 30, 2026

This Public Domain Image Use Policy describes how Catholic Bros, operated by Bright Cloud Media, LLC (“Catholic Bros,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), sources and uses images on www.catholicbros.com (the “Site”). It also describes how to contact us if you believe an image is being used without proper authorization.

1. Sources of Images

We use images on the Site that we believe fall into one or more of the following categories:

(a) Public Domain. Images that are free of known copyright restrictions, either because their copyright term has expired or because the rights-holder has dedicated the work to the public domain. In general, a work is in the public domain in the United States and in most other countries if the term of copyright protection (typically the life of the author plus 70 years, though this varies by jurisdiction) has expired.

(b) Open or Permissive Licenses. Images licensed under Creative Commons, GNU Free Documentation License, or similar permissive licenses, used in accordance with the applicable license terms (including attribution and share-alike requirements where applicable).

(c) Licensed Stock or Authorized Use. Images licensed from stock libraries or used with the express written permission of the rights-holder.

(d) Original or In-House Works. Images created, generated, or edited in-house by Catholic Bros, including derivatives of public domain source material.

Common sources for our public-domain and openly licensed images include Wikimedia Commons, RawPixel, Flickr Commons, the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art Open Access collection, and similar archives that mark works as public domain or openly licensed.

2. Attribution and Licensing

(a) For images in the public domain, attribution is generally not legally required, but we may still credit the source where reasonably practicable.

(b) For images used under Creative Commons or similar licenses that require attribution, we provide credit and a link to the license, consistent with the license terms.

(c) For images licensed from a stock library or used with the rights-holder’s permission, we comply with the applicable license terms.

3. Edited or Derivative Works

We may modify, crop, color-correct, or otherwise edit source images to fit the design and tone of the Site. Where the underlying license requires it, we identify the original source and the fact that the image has been adapted.

4. International Copyright Considerations

Copyright laws and the duration of copyright protection vary by country. An image that is in the public domain in the United States may still be under copyright in another country, and vice versa. While we make reasonable efforts to verify the copyright status of images before using them, we cannot guarantee that every image is in the public domain in every jurisdiction.

5. Reporting a Concern; Takedown Requests

If you are a rights-holder (or an authorized representative) and you believe an image on the Site is not properly authorized for our use, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate and respond. To submit a takedown request, please email:

Email: dan@catholicbros.com

Subject Line: “Image Takedown Request”

Please include:

(a) your name, contact information, and your relationship to the rights-holder;

(b) identification of the image at issue (such as the URL where it appears on the Site, or a copy of the image);

(c) a description of the rights you believe have been infringed and, where applicable, evidence of your ownership of those rights;

(d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the image is not authorized by the rights-holder, its agent, or the law; and

(e) a statement that the information in your request is accurate.

We will review the request promptly and, where appropriate, remove or replace the image and take other reasonable measures.

6. Relationship to Our DMCA / Copyright Policy

If your concern relates to copyright under U.S. law, you may also follow the formal notice procedure described in our DMCA / Copyright Policy at www.catholicbros.com/dmcapolicy. The DMCA procedure provides additional procedural protections (including counter-notification rights). For non-copyright concerns or for informal takedown requests, the procedure in this Policy is sufficient.

7. Disclaimer

While we make every effort to verify the copyright status of images before using them, copyright laws may vary by country and rights status can change. Errors or oversights are possible. If you believe an image on the Site has been used in error, please contact us at the address above so we can address the concern promptly.

8. Updates

We may update this Public Domain Image Use Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
