Prayer for Salvation
The Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of the living God,
I believe in You and place my hope in Your mercy.
Forgive me for my sins
and turn my heart away from all that separates me from You.
Through Your Cross and Resurrection,
draw me closer to the Father
and fill me with the grace of the Holy Spirit.
Help me to follow You faithfully,
to love You with all my heart,
and to persevere in faith until the end.
Jesus, lead me along the path of salvation
and bring me one day into the joy of eternal life with You.
Amen.

About This Prayer
A prayer for salvation is ultimately a prayer of trust in Jesus Christ and the saving grace God offers us through Him.
Jesus tells us, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me” (John 14:6, RSV). Through His death and Resurrection, Christ conquered sin and death and opened the way to eternal life.
For Catholics, salvation is not simply about saying one prayer at one moment. It is a life of grace—turning away from sin, believing in Christ, receiving the sacraments, loving God and neighbor, and continuing faithfully with Him.
This prayer expresses that desire: Jesus, forgive me, change my heart, keep me close to You, and lead me home.
