About

Saint Faustina, born Helena Kowalska, was a humble Polish nun who became the Apostle of Divine Mercy. In the 1930s, Jesus appeared to her in a series of visions and asked her to spread His message of mercy to the world. She wrote down everything she saw and heard in her diary, now known as Divine Mercy in My Soul. Saint Faustina’s life was marked by deep prayer, obedience, and suffering, which she offered to God for the conversion of sinners.

Legacy

Saint Faustina’s legacy is centered on the message of Divine Mercy, one of the most important spiritual movements in the modern Catholic Church. Because of her visions, the Church now celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday on the Sunday after Easter. The image of Jesus she saw—showing red and white rays flowing from His heart—is now known around the world. Through her, Jesus gave the world the powerful Divine Mercy Chaplet and the call to trust in His mercy.
