When to Pray

The Saint Thérèse Novena is most often prayed from September 22–30, finishing on the eve of her feast day (October 1). However, Catholics also pray it whenever they are in need of spiritual strength, healing, or a reminder of God’s love in daily struggles. Families, parishes, and individuals often use this novena as a way to draw close to the Little Flower’s “Little Way.”

Day 1

O Saint Thérèse, Little Flower of Jesus, help me to trust in God’s merciful love as you did. Obtain for me the grace to follow your Little Way with faith and humility. Saint Thérèse, pray for us. Amen.

Day 2

Dear Saint Thérèse, teach me to love with childlike simplicity. Help me find holiness in the small sacrifices of each day. Intercede for my intentions, and let me live faithfully in God’s presence. Amen.

Day 3

O Little Flower, you embraced humility with joy. Pray for me to accept trials with patience and to grow closer to Christ in suffering. Through your prayers, may I grow in faith and perseverance. Amen.

Day 4

Saint Thérèse, you found greatness in doing small things with great love. Teach me to serve God in the ordinary tasks of life. May my daily works, however small, glorify Him. Amen.

Day 5

O Saint Thérèse, who trusted God completely, hear my prayers and petitions with a motherly heart. Help me grow in confidence that God hears and answers every prayer. Amen.

Day 6

Little Flower of Jesus, you showed great compassion for others. Teach me to love my neighbor with kindness and mercy. Help me reflect Christ’s love to all around me. Amen.

Day 7

Dear Saint Thérèse, you offered your sufferings for souls. Pray that I may embrace sacrifices with joy and unite them to Christ’s Cross. Strengthen me to walk faithfully in His footsteps. Amen.

Day 8

O Little Flower, you promised to send a shower of roses from heaven. Grant me a sign of your love and intercession. May I never doubt the power of your prayers before God. Amen.

Day 9

Saint Thérèse, at the end of your short life you entered the fullness of God’s love. Pray that I too may remain faithful until the end, and rejoice with you in heaven forever. Amen.
