When to Pray

The St Joseph Novena can be prayed at any time of the year when seeking his help as protector, provider, and guide. It is also the perfect novena for financial help and novena for employment. Traditionally, it begins on March 10 to conclude on his Solemnity, March 19, or on April 23 to conclude on his feast as St. Joseph the Worker, May 1. It is also fitting during transitions in work, family life, or when asking for a holy death.

Day 1

O glorious St. Joseph, faithful spouse of Mary, guardian of Jesus, and loving father to us all, I ask for your powerful intercession today. Help me to live with humility, patience, and faith, trusting in God’s plan as you did. Obtain for me the grace I need, especially in this intention: (state your request). Amen.

Day 2

St. Joseph, model of faith and obedience, you followed God’s voice without hesitation. Teach me to surrender my will to God’s and to walk in trust even when the path is unclear. Pray for my needs and protect me from all harm. Amen.

Day 3

Loving St. Joseph, you cared for Jesus and Mary with steadfast devotion. Help me to serve my family and community with selflessness and joy. Intercede for me in my petitions and guide me closer to your Son. Amen.

Day 4

St. Joseph, patron of workers, you labored diligently and honestly to provide for your family. Bless my work and efforts, and help me find meaning and dignity in all I do. May I use my talents for God’s glory. Amen.

Day 5

Gentle St. Joseph, your heart was pure and your faith unwavering. Protect me from discouragement and lead me to greater trust in God’s mercy. I entrust my needs to your care. Amen.

Day 6

St. Joseph, guardian of the Redeemer, you shielded the Holy Family from danger. Defend me from the threats of sin and despair, and keep my loved ones safe in God’s grace. Amen.

Day 7

Faithful St. Joseph, your strength came from prayer and your closeness to Jesus and Mary. Help me to grow in prayerfulness and to find strength in God alone. I place my intentions in your hands. Amen.

Day 8

Humble St. Joseph, you accepted every trial as part of God’s divine plan. Help me to accept my crosses with patience and hope. Pray that I may grow in holiness through my struggles. Amen.
