About

Bishop Fulton Sheen was a famous Catholic speaker, writer, and TV host in the 1900s. He was born in El Paso, Illinois in 1895. As a young man, he studied hard and became a priest. He later taught at Catholic colleges and became a bishop. Bishop Fulton Sheen was known around the world for his radio and TV shows, especially Life Is Worth Living, where he talked about Jesus and the Catholic faith in a way everyone could understand. He helped many people learn about God and the Church. He loved Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and always encouraged people to pray the Rosary.

Legacy

Bishop Fulton Sheen helped bring the Catholic faith into people’s homes through radio and television. He was one of the first Catholic leaders to use media to share God’s love. Millions of people listened to his talks, including non-Catholics. He also wrote more than 70 books! His teachings are still read and watched today. Pope Benedict XVI called him a great example of how to share the faith in modern times. His cause for sainthood was opened, and in 2019, he was declared Venerable by the Church, which means he lived a holy and faithful life.
“Life is worth living as long as there is a laugh in it.” — Bishop Fulton Sheen
