A Prayer for Employment
The Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today seeking Your guidance and blessing as I search for employment.
You know my needs, my abilities, and the concerns weighing upon my heart. Open doors to meaningful work where I may use the gifts You have given me, provide for my loved ones, and serve others with dignity.
When opportunities seem distant, grant me patience. When rejection brings discouragement, renew my hope. When uncertainty fills my thoughts, strengthen my trust in Your providence.
St. Joseph the Worker, faithful guardian of the Holy Family, intercede for me. You understood the dignity of honest labor and the responsibility of providing for those entrusted to your care.
Guide my efforts, strengthen my perseverance, and help me recognize the opportunities God places before me.
Lord, bless my applications, conversations, and interviews. Lead me toward work that fulfills my responsibilities and honors You.
Until that door opens, provide for my daily needs and grant me peace in knowing that my future rests in Your loving hands.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
St. Joseph the Worker, pray for us.

About This Prayer
This Prayer for Employment seeks God’s guidance, provision, and strength during the search for meaningful work. Whether facing unemployment, pursuing a new career opportunity, or struggling to provide for one’s family, this prayer offers an opportunity to surrender uncertainty to God’s providence.
The prayer invokes St. Joseph the Worker, the patron saint of workers, who faithfully supported Jesus and Mary through his labor as a carpenter. His example reminds us that honest work carries dignity and that perseverance, humility, and trust in God are essential during uncertain times.
Through St. Joseph’s intercession, we ask for opportunities to work, the strength to overcome discouragement, and the wisdom to follow God’s will.
