About This Prayer
This Prayer for Guidance asks God to lead the believer toward a deeper understanding of the truth revealed through Jesus Christ and preserved within the Catholic Church. Catholics believe that Christ continues to guide His people through the Holy Spirit and through the Church founded upon the apostles.
When praying for guidance, believers ask God for clarity of mind, humility of heart, and the courage to follow the truth wherever it leads. Through Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the teaching authority of the Church, Catholics believe the fullness of Christ’s truth continues to be handed down through every generation.
The Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You are the source of all wisdom and truth.
Guide my mind and heart as I seek to understand Your will.
Lord Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life.
Lead me by Your light so that I may recognize the truth
You revealed through Your Church.
Holy Spirit, Spirit of truth,
remove confusion and doubt from my heart
and guide me toward a deeper faith.
Help me to seek truth with humility
and to follow wherever Your grace leads me.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
