About This Prayer
This short prayer for successful surgery and recovery entrusts the outcome of a medical procedure to God’s mercy and providence. It reflects the Catholic belief in God as the Divine Physician and emphasizes trust in His care while also invoking blessings for the surgical team. Praying this before surgery offers peace of mind, a sense of surrender to God’s will, and spiritual strength for both the operation and the recovery process.
The Prayer
Father, I place myself completely in Your loving care as I (or NAME) prepare for surgery. Calm my fears and strengthen my faith. Guide the hands of my surgeons and medical team, granting them skill and wisdom. Bless this procedure with success and grant me a smooth recovery. May Your healing peace rest upon me, and may I rise from this time restored in body and spirit. Amen.
