Prayer to Heal – Our Lady of Lourdes
“Go to the Madonna. Love her! Always say the Rosary. Say it well. Say it as often as you can! Be souls of prayer. Never tire of praying; it is what is essential.” — St. Padre Pio
About This Prayer
This prayer to heal is directed to Our Lady of Lourdes, who appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 in Lourdes, France. The Blessed Virgin identified herself as the Immaculate Conception and called for prayer, penance, and trust in God. Lourdes quickly became a place of pilgrimage and miraculous healing, with countless physical and spiritual cures attributed to Mary’s intercession. This prayer captures the humility, trust, and hope of those who seek healing through Our Lady’s maternal care. It is not only a plea for physical restoration but also for inner peace and spiritual renewal.
The Prayer
O ever-Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy,
health of the sick, refuge of sinners,
comforter of the afflicted,
you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings.
Look upon me with mercy.
By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes,
you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary,
where you dispense your favors,
and where many sufferers have obtained
the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with complete confidence
to implore your intercession.
O loving Mother, obtain for me from your Divine Son
the healing of my sickness.
If it be the will of God,
let me be cured in body and soul.
May I live now in His love and serve Him faithfully,
and at the hour of my death,
receive the crown of eternal life. Amen.
