About This Prayer
A Prayer for a Grieving Family asks God to bring comfort and peace to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. In the Catholic faith, grief is met with the hope of the Resurrection and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. While the pain of loss can feel overwhelming, prayer helps families place their sorrow in God’s hands and seek His healing grace. Through prayer and faith, grieving families are reminded that God remains close to them and that His mercy brings consolation even in times of deep sorrow.
The Prayer
Heavenly Father,
In this time of sorrow, we turn to You for comfort and strength. You see the pain and grief in our hearts, and we ask that Your loving presence surround our family.
Lord, bring peace to those who mourn and gently heal the wounds of loss. When our hearts feel heavy, remind us that You are near to the brokenhearted and that Your love never fails.
May Your peace rest upon our family and give us strength for each day ahead. Hold us close in Your mercy and guide us through this time of mourning with faith and trust.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
