About This Prayer

This Closing Prayer After Meeting offers gratitude to God for the work accomplished and asks for His guidance as participants put their discussions and decisions into action. St. Benedict is invoked because his Rule emphasizes prayer, work, humility, careful deliberation, and living and working together in Christian community.

The Prayer

Heavenly Father, As we bring this meeting to a close, we thank You for the time we have shared, the ideas discussed, and the work accomplished. Grant us wisdom as we carry forward the decisions we have made, and help us to act with patience, charity, and understanding toward one another. Through the intercession of St. Benedict, help us work together in a spirit of peace, humility, and cooperation. May our efforts bear good fruit and always serve the greater good. St. Benedict, pray for us. Amen.
