About This Prayer
This Prayer Before Work asks God to bring purpose, integrity, and perseverance to the work of the day. St. Joseph, who supported and protected the Holy Family through the work of his hands, provides a powerful example of the dignity of ordinary labor. His life reminds us that our work can become an offering to God when it is performed faithfully and with love.
The Prayer
Heavenly Father,
As I begin my work today, guide my hands, my thoughts, and my decisions. Help me to work with patience, honesty, and purpose, remembering that even ordinary tasks can be offered for Your glory and the good of others. When my work becomes difficult, give me perseverance; when I succeed, keep me humble and grateful.
Through the intercession of St. Joseph the Worker, teach me to labor faithfully, quietly, and with love, as he did in providing for Jesus and Mary.
St. Joseph the Worker, pray for me.
Amen.
