About This Prayer

The Prayer for Infertility gives voice to the sorrow, hope, and trust that many couples and individuals carry in silence. Catholic tradition affirms the goodness of life while also recognizing that suffering and waiting can be united to Christ’s own Cross. This prayer invites God into the uncertainty of infertility, asking not only for healing, but also for peace, perseverance, and confidence in God’s loving plan.

The Prayer

Loving God, You are the giver of life and the author of every good gift. I come before You with a heart that longs for a child and with questions that feel heavy to carry. You know the hope I hold, the tears I have shed, and the waiting that feels so uncertain. Lord, if it is Your will, bless us with the gift of new life. Heal what is broken, restore what is weak, and guide the hands and hearts of those who care for us. If Your plan looks different than I expect, give me the grace to trust You, to remain faithful, and to believe that my life still bears deep meaning and purpose. Wrap us in Your peace, strengthen our love, and remind us that we are never forgotten in Your sight. Amen.

When To Pray

This prayer may be prayed during times of diagnosis, treatment, or extended waiting, especially when discouragement or grief sets in. Many Catholics turn to this prayer before medical appointments, during Eucharistic adoration, or as part of a daily prayer routine shared between spouses. It is also fitting to pray during seasons of discernment, surrender, and renewed trust in God’s timing.
