This Prayer Before Class asks God to bless students with wisdom, understanding, patience, and a desire for truth. It also seeks the intercession of St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the Church’s greatest teachers and a patron saint of students and Catholic schools. His example reminds us that education is not simply about gaining knowledge, but about using our minds to seek truth and ultimately draw closer to God.
The Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Open our minds to learn, our hearts to understand, and our spirits to seek what is true and good. Give us wisdom, patience, and gratitude for the opportunity to grow in knowledge. May everything we learn today help us better serve You and one another.
St. Thomas Aquinas, patron saint of students and Catholic schools, pray for us and guide us in the pursuit of wisdom and truth.
